Open Office Training: Open Office Conversion

This course is for people who are converting from using Microsoft Office to to Open Office. No previous knowledge of Open Office is required, though it's presumed that all delegates have a reasonable working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Writer

  • Getting to know the Writer screen
  • Location of commonly used buttons and menu options
  • Formatting Paragraphs
  • Formatting Pages
  • Styles
  • Tables
  • Autotext
  • Using the Drawing toolbar

Templates and Mail Merge can also be included provided the delegates already use these facilities in Microsoft Word.

Calc

  • Getting to know the Calc screen
  • Location of commonly used buttons and menu options
  • Text and number formatting
  • Column and row formatting
  • Margins
  • Scaling
  • Orientation
  • Basic formulas
  • Sum
  • Autofill
  • Inserting and editing charts
  • Printing charts

DataPilot tables can also be included provided the delegates already use Pivot tables in Excel.

Format

This course is instructor led in a classroom environment. We recommend a maximum of 8 delegates per course to ensure that all delegates gain the maximum benefit from the course.

Duration

This is a one day course. Standard hours are 9:30 to 16:30, with a one hour lunch break, and short breaks mid morning and mid afternoon. It may be possible to change this arrangement by request.
