Microsoft Project Training: Advanced

Description

At the end of the course delegates should be able to customise project fields, work with multiple projects and shared resource pools. They should also be able to record and run macros.

Pre-Requisites

Delegates must be able to create a task and resource schedule in Microsoft Project prior to attending this course.

Customising the Project Environment

  • Creating text, number and flag fields
  • Using traffic light systems for reporting
  • Adding/removing fields in tables
  • Creating customised tables and reports
  • Customising filters and views
  • Using Organiser to copy tables, reports etc to other files

Templates

  • Using standard templates for projects with similar schedules

Filters & Grouping

  • Working with filters to display tasks meeting specified criteria
  • Grouping tasks meeting specified criteria

Transferring Data Between Applications

  • Importing data from Excel
  • Exporting data to Excel using export maps
  • Copying schedule pictures into Word and PowerPoint

Macros

  • Recording macros
  • Assigning macros to toolbar buttons

Format

This course is instructor led in a classroom environment. We recommend a maximum of 8 delegates per course to ensure that all delegates gain the maximum benefit from the course.

Duration

This is a one day course. Standard hours are 9:30 to 16:30, with a one hour lunch break, and short breaks mid morning and mid afternoon. It may be possible to change this arrangement by request.
